One day, we dream of offering the biggest selection of fair trade products in Canada. For now, we’re a tiny business that’s just starting out, so we’re not going to promise you free overnight shipping.
Since we’re so little, minor delays might happen during our busiest times. But your experience is still our priority and we will always maintain open communication if we feel we can’t keep 100% of our commitments to you.
As a general rule, during COVID-19, you can expect that shipping will be delayed 2-3 days beyond our usual shipping times. Canada Post is experiencing very large volumes and a reduced workforce, and we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
At the moment, shipping high-quality, fair trade products within Canada is exciting enough for our little business! So we only ship domestically for now.
We charge Canadian customers a flat-rate fee of $15 for regular shipping. Orders over $100 (before taxes and after discounts) qualify for free regular shipping.
We now offer free local pickup as an option for customers located in Ottawa-Gatineau. Please select “local pickup” as your shipping method when you check out. We will contact you to arrange a pickup time. Please allow at least 3 business days for pickup to occur. Although we will contact you as promptly as possible to arrange a time, we are a small operation and may not be able to do same-day pickup.
We share your concerns about respiratory hygiene during COVID-19, and during pickups we offer a contactless option. If you have additional needs, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Orders within Ontario and Quebec typically ship in 5-7 business days. For orders shipping to the rest of Canada, please allow 7-10 business days for delivery.
Shipping and packing materials
We’re committed to sustainability and do our best to reduce our environmental footprint. That means re-using shipping boxes and packing supplies wherever possible. If we’ve re-used the box that your order ships in, you might find that there is another company’s branding on it, for example. Or you might find that instead of packing your delicate items in new brown paper, we’ve wrapped them in pages from a magazine that was destined for the recycle bin. These are all ways that we reduce the amount of new materials we use in the process of shipping your items to you!
Unclaimed & return-to-sender parcels
From time to time, a mistake happens and a customer doesn’t claim their parcel at the post office, so it gets returned to sender.
Shipping fees are non-refundable. Unclaimed or return-to-sender parcels will not be shipped again unless the customer confirms their correct shipping address and covers the cost of re-shipping the parcel via Canada Post. Depending on the customer’s location and the size and weight of the parcel, this may cost more than the $15 flat rate.
If, rather than paying to have the parcel re-shipped, the customer requests a refund, a non-refundable $15 flat-rate shipping fee will be deducted from the customer’s refund. If the customer paid the flat rate shipping fee, this means they will only receive a refund for the products they ordered and not the shipping they paid originally. If the customer received the free shipping promotion, they will only receive a partial refund for their products ordered, as they will still be charged the $15 flat-rate fee to cover our costs of shipping the unwanted parcel.
Please note that unclaimed parcels are not the same as a parcel that contains unsatisfactory or damaged items. If you wish to return products that are not to your liking, please see our returns and refunds policy.
